Grapes grown between 2,000 and 2,500 m ripen slowly in cool nights, which is what gives the raisin its concentrated sweetness.

Seedless by variety, not by processing
The local grape itself is small and seedless, so nothing is removed or treated after drying.

Sun-dried on trays
Spread out and turned by hand rather than tunnel-dried, which is why the texture stays soft rather than hard and dusty.
About this one
These come from the small, thin-skinned green grapes grown on trellises along Hunza and Ghizer's irrigation channels — the same vines families have kept for generations, mostly for their own table rather than the market.
Laid out on trays in the sun rather than dried in a machine, the grapes shrink slowly and keep a soft, almost chewy bite instead of turning leathery. The result is sweeter and plumper than the raisins most people are used to.
Nothing is added at any stage — no sulphur dip, no oil glaze to keep them glossy on a shelf.
How to use it
- By the handful as a snack, or scattered over yoghurt and porridge.
- Soak 10 minutes in warm water to plump them up for baking.
- Stir into a pulao or biryani in the last few minutes of cooking.
- Add to trail mix, granola, or a cheese board.
